FFD – Temperament Testing

Notes on our temperament testing

  • Our testing is on the testing done by Badass Breeders.   Often referred to BAB’s Testing or Empowered Breeders PAT (Puppy Aptitude Testing)  it is kind of a hybrid of a few different testing protocols.  We do our best to implement it .   It isnt perfect but the videos at least give you an idea of the puppies’s personality.
  • ** Note on location and testers – test is supposed to be done in a location that is completely different to the puppy.   We use our Office which is a separate structure from our house.  The puppies are seeing this area for the first time.   My son Miles and my Nephew Hank are my testers.   Miles does spend a little time with the puppies occasionally but Hank has had little to no contact with the puppies so he is a perfect tester for this litter.

I personally feel all these pups would work in any family situation.  But I know some might adapt quicker in certain family situations.    These are just recommendations based on some limited time with these pups and I have personally seen puppies some might label as “shy” turn out to be the complete opposite as adult dogs.

I also have had pups go to a family that somehow didn’t fit – so to help folks out we have adapted some temperament testing to help place them in the best possible home for them.   Hope that makes sense.

Gus

Gus

Gus will work with almost any family situation and even scored high as a service or facility dog.   He may not do so well with a family that is gone all day leaving him on his own.

Gabor

Gabor

Gabor is a less assertive boy but super cuddly.  He would likely with patience be good in any family situation but may be better suited to a quiet situation.   Retired, etc.   But he is still going to be a fun boy!

Gertie

Gertie

Gertie and George are the litter clowns and also the most outgoing and adventurous.   Gertie scored high in almost all situations.

George

George

George is a clown (like Gertie) He scored high in all areas and even very highly as a Facility dog.   His testing had us all cracking up

Goose

Goose

Goose is a good solid boy.   Always the one watching the others.  His personality reminds me of his daddy.    He scored high for all family situations and even for some service dog applications.

Gizmo

Gizmo

Gizmo scored high in almost all areas!  His name fits him perfectly (I am not sure how that happens – I pick the names out when they are really tiny)  But he is a ball of energy and loves nothing more than to tug on my pant leg as I walk around.

Gina

Gina

Gina is a sweet girl and seems kind of independent.   She scored highest with an active retired home.   But I feel she would do just as well in a family with kids

Ginger

Ginger

Ginger (like Gabor) takes a little longer to gain confidence in a new situation.  When she gets comfortable though she is just as fun and silly as her siblings.   Just keeping in mind she may take more time in new situations.   She would work great for a retired couple or a household where she may spend a little time on her own.   (we always recommend crates – especially as pups)
